What does this role entail?

As an System engineer your primary responsibility is assisting the IT department with all aspects of technology as it relates to office and regional priorities as we continuously strive to improve our IT systems and services, support the business, and strive to create and innovate with technology.

You will be working closely with our colleagues in Germany and Sweden. As an System engineer, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical problems that arise within the company's server environment, on-prem & cloud systems and networks. You will also be responsible for maintaining an inventory of hardware and software, ensuring that our systems are up-to-date, and providing technical support to employees on various IT-related issues. This will be a role partially on site at our premises in Karlsruhe

Installation and configuration of Windows servers incl. roles and functions
Domain controller with active directory user management
Configuration of L2 stack switches and VLANs
Planning and implementation of network segmentation
Responsible for Site-to-site VPN tunnel (IPSEC, SSL) and VPN dial-in for clients
Responsible for user and access control Entra ID
Configuration and administration in an Exchange Hybrid environment
Ensuring and further developing the company's internal IT security
Installation and configuration of ESXi hypervisor, update and patch management of ESXi and vCenter as well as configuration of networks and storage within ESXi
Installation and configuration of Linux servers (network, access control)
Configuration and further development of our infrastructure using various cloud solutions
Configuration and monitoring of backup jobs

You’ll thrive in this role if

You have several years of experience with:
- Windows Clients/Server: (DHCP, DNS, WSUS und CA)
- Network infrastructure (LAN, WLAN, WAN usw.)
- Firewall and Mailgateway (Sophos, Fortigate, Fortimail, Watchguard, Lancom)
- Microsoft 365 (Azure Hybrid, Exchange, Intune, Defender)
- Virtualization (VMware, NAS/SAN)
- Linux
- Backup (VEEAM)
You are characterized by a solution and service-oriented way of working and analytical skills
Very good written and spoken English
